1974 VW ‘Thing’, also known as Type 181
~Rare and Extremely Clean~
Only imported into the U.S. for two years, 1973 and 74, with the 1974 often being preferred. Odometer shows 19,130 mi., but cannot validate accuracy. Lots of New parts, including Convertible Top, Newly Upholstered Seats, Tires, Battery, Mirrors, Tail Lights, and more. The New tires mentioned above are 205/70R-14″, the OEM tires were 185SR-14″, so the replacements are taller profile and provide a better ride, however the speedometer is off. Has a Roll Bar, and comes with Front End Bra, Soft Bags for the removable windows, Original Tool Pouch and Owners Manual. This ‘Thing’ is almost 42 years old, not perfect but in excellent shape. Everything functions as it should, this car needs little to Nothing!
