EXTERIOR Finished in beautiful Volkswagen L 563 safari beige the paintwork is in amazing condition due to a full bare metal, nut and bolt restoration, All the trim and glass is in very good condition and the chrome bumpers have a nice original finish. A wonderfully presentable and usable example. for use as a concourse vehicle or just to be your pride and joy and be enjoyed.

INTERIOR The white Leatherette headlining accents the exterior colour scheme perfectly and offers a light and airy feel to the cabin space. The seats are superbly clean with no wear or discolouration what so ever. the centres have been renewed in an almost identical to original material, Every fitment is functional and as it left the German VW production line, allowing the occupants on each journey an insight as to what a type 3 notch feels like. All matching door cards are clean and complete the factory standard appeal with new matching brown carpets A real treat for any classic car fanatic.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The air-cooled rear mounted engine has unmistakable VW engine note which is delightfully pronounced but completely unobtrusive. The fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox works perfectly offering light and precise progression throughout the range. the front and rear are slightly lowered but does not spoil the ride quality in any way.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Original Lemmertz steel rims are in remarkable condition . Brake drums front and rear operate freely, offering modest stopping power when compared to modern vehicles.

HISTORY FILE Manufactured in 1963, this fantastic example was a one owner car until the owner sadly retired from driving,it was supplied to a town in Sweden called Linkoping,were the owner was a baker in the town. the history file provides an insight as to the incredibly fastidious ownership this car has enjoyed. A documented genuine mileage of 82000kls .which is very low considering the age. the vehicle is now approaching the 83000klms barrier and is still running the original engine and transmission,testament to the way this car was looked after. please don’t confuse this notch with most of what you will see in the classifieds this vehicle has been subject to a total restoration inside and out ,all the underside has also been stripped and had the same attention to detail with copious amounts of wax oil and cavity wax to protect it for many more years of motoring.

The notch is my fathers personal vehicle we restored it this summer for the Hessich oldendorf vw meeting in Germany and he drove it there and back trouble free. the only reason it is for sale is he now has to have a new hip and he wont be able to drive the notch like he would have liked.
