Buy Classic Volks – Volkswagen Camper 21 Window Walk Through for sale at Watton, Norfolk, United Kingdom. Excellent condition white color. Originally imported from Los Angeles about 15 years ago and owned, maintained and improved by well known SSVC member. Purchased by me and was subject to an extensive bare metal rebuild in 2011when it was converted into a camper.

The general spec is as follows :
Lowered ride height, Narrowed Weedeater front beam, IRS conversion, Creative Engineering steering rack conversion (brilliant), Cross drilled CSP front discs, 3/130s wide rear brake drums, Empi Sprintstar wheels, Creative engineering front safari’s and side pop outs, Leisure battery & 240v pick up.
The high spec 1776cc engine was specially built & fitted by the renown engine maker ‘Laurie Pettit’. He has fitted it to a 1303s gearbox (3.88rp tall 4th gear)
Twin 40 DCNF Weber carbs, Remote Oil filter, Remote oil cooler, Oil pressure gauge, Oil temp. gauge, Rev counter.
The soundproofed custom interior has been built by ‘Custom Classic & Retro’ at a cost of £10,000. It comprises Rock & Roll bed, Propex gas heating, Gas hob, Stainless sink, Drop down dvd player, Retrosound radio with ipod pick up, Plenty of storage, etc. etc.
The bus was in a 5 page feature in the VolksWorld Camper & Bus magazine (June 2012) copies are available from the publisher.
The bus has featured in displays at the NEC & VolksWorld shows and entered a few ‘Show & Shine Events’ as follows:
- 2012 – BUSJAM – Best in Show
- 2012 – WHITENOISE VW FESTIVAL – Best in Show, Best Split Screen, Best T2, – Visitors Choice.
- 2013 (August) – WHITENOISE VW FESTIVAL – Best in Show, – Best Air Cooled, – Best Interior.
In addition the bus has won Best in Show in two other regular Classic Car Shows.
