The thing is equipped with a 4 speed manual transmission with a good clutch. The VW Thing’s rear-wheel-drive manages the load of a rear-mounted engine. Front and rear drum brakes assist in stopping a gross vehicle weight of 2,954 pounds. The separate steel-bodied chassis and platform frame are steadied by telescopic shock absorbers, independent wheel suspension and a stabilizer in the front. There is a nice set of 15 inch wheels with new tires that make this Thing look very sharp. This car is very solid and Top is like new!

Buy Classic Volks – Karmann Ghia Coupe for sale in Florida, USA. 1974 year construction on green color. Bone stock unaltered car. I refurbished this car about 5 years ago to include paint, new interior(sewfine), air conditioning(Gilmore), engine rebuild, autostick transmission rebuild, rubber gaskets all around body, shocks, ball joints, brakes, etc. It has about 2000 miles since then. Purchased from Phoenix Arizona and there have been no body repairs or wrecks . There are a few rust bubbles coming up under the paint now behind the rear wheels. Headlight buckets are rust free as are rockers, nose has not been touched. I have not been under the car in about a year but there was no apparent rust on the pan then. Illness and daughter in college prompts possible sale. May trade for 4 runner or smaller japanese SUV of equal value. No other types of cars or trucks considered.
