I have been collecting Volkswagen Things for over 25 years. They were low production cars, with only about 26,000 made for the US. This is a very good one!
Recent feature article in 2015 “Hemming’s Publication” reviews the increase in the interest, collectibility and prices of these neat 4 door “Thing” convertibles. as collectors and people of all ages want to drive, show and have fun with them! As auctions. prices continue to increase dramatically One sold in March 2015 at Amelia Island, Florida for $55,000 plus fees! It was not perfect! Another brought over $35,000 at Barrett Jackson. They are fun to drive, attract a lot of attention. They are easy and affordable to maintain, and very reasonable to insure. Parts and lots of add on fun options and equipment are readily available. There are lots of fun ways to personalize your thing Always glad to answer your questions about VW Things I have owned about 20.
