Owner says
Selling my 1963 Volkswagen Beetle. I originally planned on keeping the Bug for a very long time, but my priorities have changed and it has to go. Hoping it will go to a good home that will take care of it and enjoy it as much as I did.
This Bug is in outstanding condition for a 53 year old car. California/Oregon car all its life. Body and pans #’s match. Very well preserved, and no rust issues. It has also never been in any accidents, both the front and rear aprons are perfect, with no signs of any damage whatsoever. This Bug was very solid to begin with, but a lot of time and money was spent to get it to the way it is now. I have the receipts for every part or labor I put in this car, and also have pictures showing the progress of the restoration. All the engine and mechanical work was professionally done by Trafton, Always V-Dub, and Halsey Import. Practically everything you can think of mechanically and cosmetically has been replaced. It is too much to list on this add, but if you would like to know exactly, I can email you the long list of everything that was replaced.
It was painted a little less than 2 years ago. All the original paint was removed down to bare metal. The body is very straight. No bondo was used on any part of the car. Interior was fully restored less than a year ago. It was completely stripped out and started on from scratch. The pans were POR-15’d for extra protection. Dynamat and sound deadening padding was applied to the entire interior, including inside the doors to ensure a very quiet ride. The front seats and rear bench were professionally reupholstered, as well as the headliner. New carpet was installed, new door cards, and every single piece in the interior, minus the radio was added or replaced.
Mechanically it is very solid as well and the ride quality is superb for a lowered Bug. I have rode in stock height Bugs that ride far worse than my lowered Bug. No expenses were spared on it. The front end has been completely rebuilt with a kit from AirKewld. New beam is 4 inches narrowed and fully adjustable. It also has 2.5 inch drop spindles. Rear has KYB Gas-A-Just Shocks and has been lowered a notch. Giving it a slightly raked look, which is what I was going for.
Motor is a recently rebuilt 1500cc single port. Compression is very good, and it runs perfect. Starts right up every time on the first key. Converted to 12v. Carburetor was rebuilt less than a year ago by Halsey Import. New clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, input shaft seal, flywheel o-ring and seal, and many many more parts have been replaced. Email me for the full list.
