It’s a 1967 vw squareback was purchased in Germany in Aug. of 1967 and driven 3.500 miles before being shipped to San Pedro, CA by the original owner. Engine: The engine was rebuilt in Oct. 2002 and enlarged to 1759cc 88×74 the largest based on retaining stock carburation. All tin was powder coated and fan bead blasted and cleared. Scat 40×35 D-heads were used along with a new case and valve train. The case was full flowed and Kymco oil cooler with fan for additional cooling was added.
Transmission: The transmission was rebuilt by Trans West using all German parts, with addition of aluminum side cover, superdiff, welded cross shaft, short axles and welded hubs.
Electrical:The electrical is 100% stock. New complete wire loom. H4 headlights, cargo light, rebuilt generator.
Interior: A new interior was put in by Kustom-1 upholstery in Orange, CA. The interior consist of oatmeal German squareweave carpet, original style headliner, oatmeal cloth inserts with med. brown vinyl trim, and matching door panels. 1966 style3 hinge cover with cargo light, parcel tray, reproduction dash pad. An ISP cargo mad and brown coco mats finish the interior.
Exterior: Complete new paint job using Centari base coat, clear coat in original color L87 pearl white. Entire car was media blasted to bare metal to remove all rust and corrosion before paint. The tires are on 1970 Porsche 914 pedrini polished wheels with real Porsche lug nuts.
Since my purchase this vehicle has been well maintained, garaged at all times and is in excellent overall condition.
