Here is a great example of a Double Cab that has been restored to almost perfection… The tail lights and rear wheel lips are wrong for the year (before you nuts pick it apart) and I restored it the way I wanted it done so I’m sure you can find some other issues if you look hard enough. The entire body was stripped and prepped by a body shop specializing in VW Mercedes BMW Porsche and the like. the car come from the high desert of California so it had no rust and was a good candidate for restoration from the get go. Paint is in excellent shape and is about 8 years old. Engine and transmission are completely new with the restoration and the car runs great just not very fast… The bus has sat on the show room at Bozzani VW in Covina CA for all of it’s restored life.
